We wanted a lot of focus to be on Appalachian music, still the most neglected and misunderstood music in this country, and hope you feel as we do, that “tradition” implies passing along music that has been handed from player to player over the years, but not in sealed packages. It’s got our fingerprints and a lot of others’ on it. The aim is not for “purity”, but the sustenance and continuation of good, honest music played for its own sake.
